NOTE: If you like the alluring opaqueness of DotDotDot you will eat this one up, as it is brought to you by many of the same dudes. In terms of the words in the book, as in what it is saying with words and such, I am not sure what’s going on, which means it’s doing its job. It appears to be the documentation of the sixth Manifesta, which is an art-world thing I am not familiar with — evidently this particular Manifesta began in Cyprus but met a timely and predictably disastrous end, because the organizers felt that art world things such as Manifesta are at their with a bloody and riotous civil war as the backdrop, really. Really. I think. I don’t know. There is also a cryptic rebus-y explanation of the Dexter Sinister logo, which is a shield with a line on it like on the cover. Really, I bought this for the printing, which is this cool blue-indigo-red-purple gradient that changes as the pages progress, which is cool and awesome. The paper is nice, too, and the size of the book is unusual but not in a clumsy or challenging way. If you leave this on your desk and your friends see it, I guarantee they’ll think you’re smarter than they thought previously.

According to Amazon, this book The primary text of Notes for an Art School (Manifesta 6 School Books) is credited to Edited; Manifesta put this particular 96-page paperback edition out on Jan. 8, 2006, with Dewey Decimal number None. The ISBN is 9789963920808.
