NOTE: This is a true gem. I think Peter Bi’lak did this, or did the workshop that did this – not sure. But it’s got so many typo-nerd morsels I can’t help but gush. Including (but not limited to): a contemporary sans-serif typeface called Regina that is built out of curves from the original Baskerville; never-before-seen samples from Underware; images of Hektor before Dexter Sinister exploited it for oohs and aahs; action-shots of type workshops (really, how much of that shit have you seen?). If you don’t buy this book, you’ll never ever see these things. Do you want that on your conscience? I didn’t think so. OK.
According to Amazon, this book retails for $29.00— $7 more than what I’m asking — and ranks a sort of Sisyphean 3,014,495 in sales. The primary text of ECAL - Typographie - We Make Fonts is credited to Andre Vladimir Heiz; JRP|Ringier put this particular 160-page hardcover edition out on Sept. 15, 2006, with Dewey Decimal number 745.0. The ISBN is 2940271763.
